Kaikoura is famous for its whale watching tours and Mary and I are booked on one on the 9th. Guaranteed sightings of sperm whales and dolphins or you get refund. However, weather forecast is predicting strong winds rain and possible snow so might not make it out of port! Visited a seal colony today which offered close up view of seals relaxing and playing in the water.
Weather is very wet. News that a tornado hit Auckland on north island today (8th) and forecast snow for next couple of days albeit on higher ground. Quite a contrast to Australia and even Akaroa only 2 days ago.
