Melbourne 1st October

Good flight down to Melbourne. Sad to leave Port Douglas as it is a very beautiful part of the world and it is about 13° cooler in Melbourne! It is a strange feeling being back here after 40 years. Looking forward to revisiting my youth! We are staying at the Ibis on Therry which is in the north of the city and up the road from Victoria market so don't think I ever ventured this far before.
Made contact with Sue, David's sister, who is very welcoming and have arranged to meet up with her,Steve and Clare, all members of the extended Gebbie family tonight for a meal. We are really looking forward to meeting them.
Ate at a dodgy Italian restaurant on Lygon St last night. Good meal but kept expecting them to produce the horses head!!
